This was taken whilst the setting sun was immediately behind the Tor early on in the "setting sun" sequence. The atmosphere was almost electric as everyone peacefully enjoyed the early November evening.

I am, like everyone else, fully aware the sun sets in the west. If you read my comment for this picture you will see that it says "... setting sun was immediately behind the Tor early on in the "setting sun" sequence". Also take into account the time of year i.e., 1.11.2007 and the sun will not set exactly in the west but near to it.

My apologies m'deer, if I've offended you  I was just surprised by the title. It must have been quite some time before the sun was actually setting.

Having lived in Parbrook for 5yrs I've taken many Tor sunsets throughout the year, and checking back through my prints it seems that during late October early November it sets around Hinkley Point, at Winter Solstice it's south of Watchet.

Some friends are at the moment, working with my negatives to create an animated film of Tor sunsets through the year. I hope they manage it.

The other picture of the actual November sunset is the last in the sequence. I liked the way the Tor tower was set against the setting sun. The sunset took about 1.5hours to complete anyway but it was a very beautiful and relaxing site. Sheryl was there too with her partner, Andy along with a whole crowd of other people all just silently appreciating one of the most naturally beautiful events that can be witnessed for free.
